Among the first in Croatia: Mojekarte™ connects webshop stores with the Cultural Card system

Cultural content providers on the Mojekarte™ platform can, starting today, accept payment with Cultural Card (Kulturna iskaznica) funds directly in their own webshops. Partial card top-up is fully supported.

A major step for the cultural sector

We are proud to announce that the Mojekarte™ platform is among the first in Croatia to have successfully completed technical integration with the Cultural Card (Kulturna iskaznica) system. It is a state programme of the Croatian Ministry of Culture and Media that grants citizens monetary funds for the purchase of tickets, books, subscriptions and other cultural content.

From today, every cultural content provider selling tickets through their own webshop on the Mojekarte™ platform can offer their audience payment via the Cultural Card. Just as easily as a card payment, after a few administrative steps.

What is the Cultural Card?

The Cultural Card is a state programme of the Croatian Ministry of Culture and Media designed to encourage active participation of citizens in cultural life. Funds on the Card can be used to buy tickets for theatres, festivals, concerts, exhibitions, cinema screenings, museums and other cultural content, with authorised providers in the official catalogue of the Kooltura system. The programme is part of the Ministry's broader strategy of democratising access to culture, especially for young people and for groups for whom financial access to cultural content has so far been difficult. For cultural providers, it means more visitors, higher sales and a direct financial incentive from public funds.

Quick integration brings tangible business effects. Cultural providers who are first to enable Cultural Card payment gain visible prominence in the official system catalogue, reach new audience segments earlier and position themselves directly as modern, technologically advanced cultural institutions.

On the Mojekarte™ platform this integration is available immediately. No in-house development, no complex technical projects, no waiting. All partners need to do is complete the prescribed administrative registration with the Ministry and the Croatian Financial Agency (Fina). We take care of the technical side.

How it works in practice

A visitor to your webshop chooses an event and tickets in the usual way. At the payment step, alongside the standard options (credit cards, internet banking and other methods), a Cultural Card payment option appears. The user authenticates on the Cultural Card system, the system checks the available balance and, if funds are sufficient, the transaction is completed in real time.

Partial payment support

We have paid particular attention to the scenario in which the user does not have enough funds on the Cultural Card to cover the full basket amount. In that case our system draws on the available Card balance, and the user tops up the remaining amount using standard payment methods. Most often a credit card, in the same transaction, without leaving your webshop. That way your buyers are never left without an option. Both those with sufficient funds and those without can complete the purchase successfully.

What partners get with our integration

• Full integration with the Cultural Card system (authentication, balance check, payment authorisation, return confirmations and cancellations). • Partial payments out of the box, with no additional configuration or development. • Automatic release of funds for incomplete transactions. When the buyer abandons checkout after partial authorisation, the system returns the funds to the user. • Fast path to production. Once the partner obtains the required documents (OIB, PKS register number, Fina application certificate and point of sale identifier), technical integration is completed in a few days. • Mojekarte™ experience. More than 30 years in regional ticketing systems, with partners such as HNK Split, Pula Film Festival, INK Pula, Kazalište Kerempuh, Festival Opatija and others.

Who can join

Technical integration is available to all cultural content providers who register with the Croatian Ministry of Culture and Media and are entered into the official Register of Cultural Content Providers. The Ministry's call for expressions of interest is open continuously, with no deadline. This means new cultural institutions, festivals, theatres, museums and other providers can apply at any time.
