Mojekarte.si in 2016

In 2016, the company Programski atelje A&Z, d.o.o. celebrated its 20th anniversary. Behind us lies an exciting, creative, and productive period during which we made a key contribution to the development of electronic ticketing in Slovenia. This niche industry was 'discovered' in Slovenia in 1991 by a young, independent group of researchers who went on to establish the company Programski atelje A&Z, d.o.o. in 1996. Electronic ticketing has gradually evolved and grown -- both in scope and quality -- precisely as a result of our work, through which we broke new ground on the domestic market and quietly set the standards in the field of information support for ticket sales. Today, we can confirm that Slovenian electronic ticketing is on a comparable level with the developed world, and the most advanced users of the integrated multi-functional DRAGON Venue platform in Slovenia are not far behind users in developed markets such as England, Scotland, or Ireland. At the same time, however, we cannot overlook the fact that the differences between individual stakeholders on the domestic market remain enormous.
If we focus on culture, on the one hand we have Cankarjev dom, which keeps pace with the times and regularly introduces technological and organisational innovations into its sales process, now selling around 70% of all its tickets online. On the other hand, we find a whole range of important cultural stakeholders -- such as SNG Drama Ljubljana, SNG Nova Gorica, Ljubljana City Theatre, and others -- who do not keep up with the challenges of the times and the changed lifestyles of their audiences, and consequently pay practically no attention to modern promotional and sales channels. Outwardly, this is reflected in the absence of their own branded online ticket shops. They do not offer print@home tickets, do not sell subscriptions online, and the list goes on. The same situation can be observed in sports, where on the one hand we find a handful of clubs -- such as NK Maribor, NK Olimpija, KK Union Olimpija, and RK Celje Pivovarna Lasko -- that somehow maintain contact with technological and organisational progress in the sale of club products. A similar picture applies to tourism, where only Ljubljanski grad and Postojnska jama keep up with the rapid development of electronic ticketing and the changing habits of visitors. Everyone else has either run out of steam and can no longer keep up with the rapid pace of change, or has made business decisions that have literally set their marketing and sales of products back to the previous millennium. The most glaring examples of this are Kobilarna Lipica and Park Skocjanske jame.
The domestic market therefore still offers some opportunities and challenges, but regardless of this, the company's most important strategic goals remain the continued development of the integrated multi-functional DRAGON Venue platform and the conquest of new markets. The years ahead will therefore be creative, work-intensive, and interesting, and we hope they will also be commercially successful. Let us conclude by reviewing the key achievements of 2016.
In the field of sports, we implemented the integrated multi-functional DRAGON Venue platform in football clubs Olimpija and Gorica, as well as basketball clubs Union Olimpija, Helios Suns, and Sixt Primorska. It seems that the domestic sports community has finally come to realise that without modern and advanced information support, it is impossible to respond to the specific challenges of today and adapt to the wishes, expectations, and demands of modern audiences. This is precisely why we believe that the number of sports clubs and organisations using the integrated DRAGON Venue platform to support the marketing and sale of their products will continue to grow in the coming seasons. The DRAGON Venue system platform has become the first choice of two new tourist facilities on the domestic market. We successfully completed implementation projects at the Nordic Centre Planica and the Vinarium observation tower. The Nordic Centre Planica uses the integrated platform for: ticket sales for tours, booking training slots for ski jumpers, museum access control, access control to the ski jumps, bar sales in catering facilities, souvenir sales, and inventory management. At Cankarjev dom, we introduced electronic ticket scanning with state-of-the-art Zebra TC 8000 handheld scanners. As the first Slovenian cultural institution, Cankarjev dom definitively abandoned the long-standing practice of exchanging vouchers for tickets and introduced print@home tickets, thereby setting a new direction that other cultural institutions will certainly follow in the coming years. We implemented the integrated DRAGON Venue platform at Kulturno drustvo Drava, which brings cinema programming to twelve municipal screening halls across Slovenia through its innovative travelling cinema project. The selected hardware ensures efficient operation of a mobile box office for selling tickets and snacks, which the operators transport from one hall to another in a delivery vehicle. Effective advance ticket sales are ensured through the website mojkino.si, and in each town, tickets can also be purchased in advance at Petrol petrol stations. A modern electronic scanning system at the entrance to the screening hall prevents any potential ticket misuse. We introduced electronic ticket scanning with state-of-the-art Zebra TC 8000 handheld scanners at Rokometni klub Gorenje Velenje. With DRAGON Venue Retail, we supported article sales and inventory management at the new shop of Lutkovno gledalisce Ljubljana. We supported the organisers of the European Team Gymnastics Championships with online advance sales of tickets and official merchandise, which exceeded even the most optimistic expectations. Pula Film Festival chose the DRAGON Venue platform to support the sale of festival passes and daily tickets. In distribution activities, we significantly increased the presence and recognition of the Mojekarte.si brand, which has become a strong competitor in the ticket distribution industry. If the trends from 2016 continue, the Mojekarte.si distribution network will become the leading distribution on the Slovenian electronic ticket market within two to three years.
