Istra Inspirit on the Mojekarte Platform

The Istrian Development Tourism Agency (IRTA) manages the ambitious regional development project Istra Inspirit, and has chosen the integrated, multi-functional Mojekarte platform to support its promotion, marketing, and ticket sales for new experiences in Istria. The project has attracted considerable attention from Croatian media, as well as from all those in the neighbouring country who follow developments in the tourism sector.
The new tourism product, which will be offered this summer to visitors of Istria eager for cultural experiences, is a successful combination of Istria's distinctive vegetation, linked with historical settings and excellently presented mythical stories and legends. We are talking about the unique Istra Inspirit project, which, under the auspices of Istria County, the Istrian Development Tourism Agency, and the Tourism Organisation of Istria County, brings a total of 27 presentations of Istrian stories and legends in its first year. Each of these stories takes visitors back to a specific historical period and setting, and with the participation of partner theatre groups and local tourism organisations as carriers of each experience, the project also involves economics, culture, and tourism students at the University of Pula, who will gain their first practical experience through this project.
The ultimate goal is that in the coming years, a portfolio of one hundred experiences would be developed, and Istra Inspirit would position itself as an internationally established and recognisable brand and a new reason for guests to visit Istria. The project will largely involve the local population, and the revenue from ticket sales and additional services will be a welcome boost to local community budgets and their residents in these times of crisis.
The 2012 tourist season is a pilot project, whose aim is to demonstrate through practical examples the usefulness and effectiveness of modern technologies in positioning and marketing the new Istra Inspirit brand on international markets, and to ensure that as many regional players as possible in the events, cultural, sports, and other activities involving specific ticket sales become familiar with it. The plan is that in the coming years, Dragon Venue will take on the role of a systemic information platform for the promotion, marketing, booking, and sale of experiences and complementary tourism products of Croatian Istria, making it a major challenge for the platform operator to familiarise as many future participants as possible with the platform's capabilities and operating principles right from the introductory phase.
