Mojekarte as a Connecting Platform in Slovenia's Tourist Attractions Market

Just over a year after the start of operations, all the key players in the Slovenian tourist attractions market are among the users of the Mojekarte information platform: Postojna Cave, Ljubljana Castle, Bled Castle, Predjama Castle, and the Lipica Stud Farm. This opens up a challenge and opportunity for their inter-organisational networking on the basis of a unified information foundation, upon which a joint platform for the promotion, marketing, and sale of tourism products could be developed in the coming years. There is no doubt that offering tourism products in one place is attractive, appealing, more affordable, simpler, and more competitive for tourists, and is the easiest path to the experiences offered by Slovenia's mutually complementary tourist micro-destinations.

A unified promotional and sales platform would represent a technological and organisational upgrade of the individual efforts and investments of individual players, and a foundation for coordinated and modern market activities, which would bring numerous synergies to the participating organisations.

The key challenges in creating a unified market platform are highlighted as follows:

1. Establishing an inter-organisational, multi-functional, and multi-channel systemic working platform based on advanced information and telecommunications technologies; 2. A joint platform enables mutual promotion, marketing, and sale of tourism products among stakeholders already using the platform; 3. Bundling (packaging) individual tourism operators' products into new, composite tourism products brings competitive advantages and better positioning for the providers themselves on the global market, as well as higher added value; 4. Selling composite products through new sales channels increases the presence, accessibility, and availability of Slovenia's tourism offering at home and on the global market; 5. The platform is open to all tourism providers.
